We repair the electrical side of boats and yachts: dead circuits, batteries that will not charge, corroded or chafed wiring, damaged panels, failed shore power connections and equipment that has stopped working, all fixed on board where the boat is kept.
Many searches for boat repairs or yacht repairs are really about electrics, because that is where modern boats most often let their owners down. A lighting circuit goes dead, the domestic bank will not hold overnight, the chartplotter resets whenever the windlass runs, or the shore power trips as soon as the kettle goes on. Those are the problems we fix.
We are clear about what we do not do. Hull, gelcoat, rigging, engine mechanical and woodwork repairs belong to other trades. If your repair list includes those, we will deal with the electrical items and you will need a yard or specialist for the rest.
A repair should start with finding the actual cause. Swapping a breaker or a battery might clear the symptom for a week, but if the real problem is a corroded crimp behind the panel or a charger set to the wrong profile, it will be back. We test methodically, explain what we found, and then recommend the repair.
Sometimes the honest recommendation is replacement. Wiring that has been extended by several owners with domestic cable, an ageing lead-acid bank that no longer holds charge, or a panel with heat damage behind it are cases where patching becomes false economy. We will tell you which category your problem falls into and why.

Repairs are done on board, so there is no need to move the boat. We work at marinas, on moorings where there is safe access, and on boats ashore. Please let us know about contractor rules and parking at your marina or yard in advance so the visit runs smoothly.

Water ingress, flooding, fire and lightning all leave electrical damage that is not always visible straight away. Salt water in particular keeps corroding connections for weeks after the event. If your boat has suffered damage, we can assess the electrical systems, explain what needs repairing or replacing, and put that in writing for you.

If you smell burning, see smoke, or find cables or terminals that are hot to touch, isolate the batteries and disconnect shore power before doing anything else, and do not use the circuit again until it has been checked. Battery banks can deliver very large currents, and a short circuit can start a fire in seconds. AC shore power carries a real shock risk, especially in a wet environment, so leave faults on that side to a competent person.
