We supply Victron equipment, fit it and configure it so the whole system works together rather than as separate boxes.
Victron kit is popular on boats and in vans because the parts are designed to talk to each other. An inverter/charger, solar controllers, a battery monitor and a GX device can share data, so charging adapts to the battery's real state and you can see everything on one screen. That only happens when the system is planned and configured as a whole, which is where most of our time on a Victron job goes.
We handle both the supply and the fitting, or we can install Victron equipment you have already bought after checking it suits the job. Every project starts with a assessment and a written, itemised quote.
Component choice follows the energy budget. We look at what you run, for how long, and where the charge comes from, then match an inverter/charger to the peak and continuous loads, size MPPT controllers to the solar array and pick a battery monitor with a shunt rated for the bank. Oversizing costs money and space; undersizing leads to nuisance shutdowns, so getting this stage right saves trouble later.
On a boat, a Victron installation lives in a damp, moving environment next to fuel and water. We use tinned marine cable, correctly rated fusing close to the battery, proper crimped terminations and secure cable runs. The AC side of an inverter/charger needs correct earthing and RCD protection, and the changeover between shore power and inverter must be arranged so the two can never back-feed. Mains wiring on board is a genuine safety risk and should always be fitted by a qualified marine electrician.
In a campervan the same principles apply, with extra attention to vibration and to keeping the vehicle's own electrics protected.
Fitting the hardware is only half the job. Each device needs the correct charge profile for your battery chemistry, the battery monitor needs its capacity and shunt settings, and a GX device needs linking to the other components so they share voltage, current and temperature data. We configure all of this, test charging from every source, and walk you through the display so you know what normal looks like.
You receive a handover covering what was fitted and how it is set up, which makes future fault finding and upgrades far simpler.
Many jobs are additions rather than fresh installs: adding solar, fitting a battery monitor, or moving to lithium on a boat that already has a Victron charger. We check that existing settings and cable sizes still suit the new setup before anything is connected, because a lithium bank on a lead-acid profile is a common and avoidable problem.
Yes. We sell and install Victron equipment, and we can also fit kit you have already bought after inspecting it.
Yes. Marine work is our main focus, but we take on campervan and motorhome projects to the same standard.
Yes. We can check and reconfigure charge profiles, battery monitor settings and GX links on an existing installation.
Send us the boat or van details and what you want the system to do. We will arrange a assessment and a written quote.
